Homework 11

Copy four (4) of the Heinrich Kley handouts onto 18"x23" paper (art center special paper) using black bottled ink and a crow quill pen & garden sticks.

Supplies for next week:

1. several sheets of bond and art center special paper for larger works
2. soft haired brush (don't pay more than $3) or "multple chinese brush"
3. colors, black ink, acrylic inks may include red, orange, yellow, blue
4. bring cups for colors or
5. a milk carton, cut out
6. 3 garden sticks

Homework 10

Class, good job on your presentations today. For this week your homework will be to choose from the following FOUR illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley to copy as best as you can. Aubrey worked very graphically, so I would encourage you guys to use the whitest paper you have, and with pen and ink to achieve the same effects.

Homework 9

Xerox all pages in your sketchbook (including all exercises), personal project related, all of it. If you have work not in your sketchbook, take photos of those and print those out too. Come in EARLY (I mean 20-30 minuets early) next week, stake out a claim on the wall to tape up all of your xeroxed pages. ALSO, include a few print outs of influential references that you have used in your work. Please put them up in an orderly manner and utilize space as best as possible - everyone's work on the wall will mean that every inch of space will be full of work, so come in early and pick the best spots!
